The ArcLight Cinema in Hollywood will be hosting an exhibit of production gear and underwater images to celebrate the opening of the Oceanic Preservation Society's film, The Cove. The exhibit will run for two weeks in the ArcLight lobby and includes a "Head Cam," worn by the surfers during the paddle out in the film, and one of the "Rock Cams" hidden by the filmmakers in the secret cove.
There will also be a photo display of a large scale beautiful reef photography project that OPS has been working on for the past two years, taken with a specially built $135,000 still camera. The photos highlight the beauty of the underwater world in the hopes of expressing how critical it is that we preserve the oceans.
Simon Hutchins, the Director of Expeditions for the Oceanic Preservation Society and builder of the custom underwater camera system, and Joe Chisholm, OPS Production Manager, will be at the ArcLight opening night, Friday July 31st, for a Q&A at both the 7:30pm and 10:15pm shows.
