Mercury Rising
Last weekend, Louie joined Robert Kennedy Jr. in Park City, Utah for the world premier of Mercury Rising.
Kennedy, a key element in the 24-minute film is the founder and chairman of a worldwide environmental group, Waterkeeper Alliance.
They monitor and assist water rights. We seem to be talking about the same issues.
Mercury, which drifts into waterways after being pumped out of coal-fired power plants, is a major cause for concern.
"Mercury is one of the hidden costs of burning coal," says Kennedy, who finds himself at the forefront of support for a range of alternative energy initiatives.
Also, as a parent, lawyer, and concerned citizen, he is active in the campaign to reveal the mercury/autism connection.
He and Louie engaged in a little Facebook Chat time.

A Letter From China
OPS continues to get letters of support from around the world. We occasionally forward these to our readers.
Hello:
I am a senior student in JiLin University China and I will become a postgraduate next year.I have seen your movie The Cove ,and I am touched by it. As a college guy, I pay little attention to the the environment protection especially ocean protection in my daily life. Aftering seeing your movie, I come to realize there are so many things needed to be paid attention to. Although my major, which is computer science and technology, has little to do with Ocean preservation, I do believe as a citizen in the earth, everyone, whatever country you are from, whatever job you do or whether your are rich or not, has the duty to make our planet a place where people can lead a happy and harmonious life while other creatures have the rights to have their own happy life too.
We always say action speak louder than words, but we end up doing nothing about what we have promised to, making excuse to "explain" why we can't do it or even playing political tricks to cover up the truth to get what they really want just as the Japanese government did. In China more and more young people are taking action to shoulder the responsibility of protecting the earth by beginning to better our school ,our town and our city. China has a long coastline, which means protecting the ocean is also protecting our future. we can't deny that we have poured tons of pollutant into ocean ,as a result disturbing the life of ocean creatures, but our government and we people have come to realized the importance of sustainable development and have already made some progress in that area.
All in all, I just want to say I am concerning about oceanic preservation and looking forward to learning more about ocean protection. In the end of this letter, I want to quote a sentence in the theme song of BeiJing Olympic Games "One World ,One Dream". We share the same home and we hold the same dream of making our planet better.
Ye from China
