September 29, 2009 Brought to you by Oceanic Preservation Society

Thank You for Helping Us Make a Japanese Version of The Cove!

Recently, Louie Psihoyos, director of The Cove sent a letter asking for  donations to complete a Japanese dubbed version of the film.

We're very excited to say that with your help, we have reached our goal. Dubbing underway. Much easier for film audiences to listen and watch, without having to read.

A big THANK YOU to all who have helped to make this happen.

The timing is perfect. The Tokyo International Film Festival just announced that The Cove will screen in Tokyo on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:50am at Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills Screen 1.

That means that the Japanese public will be able to see the dubbed version soon.

Media in Japan See The Cove for the First Time

Last week, the current version of The Cove screened to over 250 journalists from around the world at the Foreign Correspondent's Club of Japan in Tokyo.

Not only was the event standing room only, the FCCJ had to open up a second room to accommodate the crowd of guests.

Ric reports that the crowd was "rapt" while watching the film, and afterward there was "a very warm round of applause".

There also were many Japanese faces with tears streaming from their eyes.
